Best shopping areas

Passeig de Gracia

It is a beautiful wide tree lined boulevard with lovely modernist architecture and some of Barcelona’s top hotels and restaurants. The pavements are paved with lovely hexagonal paving stones with Gaudi marine motifs from Casa Mila and the street is lined with modernist lampposts by Pere Falqués and charming modernist stones benches. You can find most of the flagship stores of the top Spanish and International exclusive luxury brands on Passeig de Gracia. Designer brands wink seductively at you from every window... Chanel, Luis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana, Diesel and many more. And with some of the city's most famous Modernista landmarks on the same street, including two buildings by Antoni Gaudi, you can justifiably call this particularly shopping spree a cultural activity.

Avinguda del Portal de l'Angel

Leading down from Placa Catalunya (the central square which links Passeig de Gracia and Las Ramblas together, amongst others), Portal de l'Angel is not quite as posh as the Passeig but a great place to stock up on high quality high street bargains from shops like Zara, Mango, H&M, desigual and Bershka, with one or two high-end treats like Massimo Dutti in store. At the end of this street, you will walk into the beautiful La Seu Cathedral.

El Raval

Clothes and complements shopping is a real pleasure in El Raval thanks to all the authentic, little boutiques and vintage shops you can find in this unique area on the left side of Las Ramblas. If you want to buy something original, you certainly have to visit this area.

Las Ramblas

Las Ramblas is a great street for strolling, but not the best shopping street. There are many fast food shops, and souvenir shops and not the best place for high fashion, but you can find some high street brands like Desigual and H&M on La Rambla especially in the top part near Plaza Catalunya.

El Bulevard Rosa

El Bulevard Rosa is a lovely indoor arcade located in the area of Passeig de Gracia with more than 100 shops. The indoor arcade is specialised in charming boutique, antique and multitude shops. Most of the shops sell furnishings, paintings and decorative items. I know for sure you can find a beautiful souvenir to bring home.

Carrer de Pelei

You need some shoes? Carrer de Pelei is the street for you; this street is full of shoes! But also many other shops, for example, you will find the biggest perfumery in Barcelona, Sephora.

El born

El Born is the place to be for vintage shopping, with the many charming, little boutiques and unique shops, you certainly can find something special to take home. Although this is a great shopping area, the real gems tend to be hidden down the small streets which you’ll stumble across when you are the least expecting.
