Where to shop

There are two big streets in the city center in the area of El Raval for great vintage finds: Carrer de Tallers and Carrer de La Riera Baixa. Carrer de Tallers offers all kinds of secondhand or original items. From vintage clothing to old punk records to military stores, you can find pretty much anything on this street. Carrer de La Riera Baixa, down past the MACBA, is a short pedestrian street filled with almost all vintage shops. It’s mostly clothing shops, but there’s also a record store and a shop that sells Spanish leather bags.
On Saturdays from around 1 p.m. onwards, the shops spill out onto the street and have market-style stands, along with some of the neighbourhood residents who set up their own tables.

But there are other vintage stores all around Barcelona, here are some of the best:

Holala!

For 40 years they’ve been fiercely dedicated to the thing they love most: vintage. And one of their headquarters can be found right in the Raval. The marché aux puces (flea markets)and the industrial furniture give life to this chain born in Saint-Tropez where you can find everything from retro clothing to furniture imported from France and the United States to accessories, books and magazines.

Turquesh

When the sun comes out in Barcelona, this shop fills with exclusive models of sunglasses from the era of brands like Leonard and Mimmina. Autumn brings retro silk scarves, and for the rest of the year, vintage dresses, shirts, wool jumpers and Adidas sweatshirts. Not to mention Christian Dior handbags at amazing prices.

El Recibidor

It looks like an art gallery but is in fact a shop that specialises in vintage Scandinavian-style furniture from the 60s and 70s. It feels like a personal collection of the owners themselves - full of the pieces they would like to find in a store. The best thing about this Sant Antoni shop is the formula the owners have applied to their business: reasonable prices + beautiful furniture.

Lullaby

Well-selected vintage clothing, organised by decade, with an attractive selection of accessories at very reasonable prices. The owners are two Catalan musicians, so it’s no surprise that the music selection that accompanies your browsing is superb. They offer clothes from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. You can find women’s clothes, but at the back of the store you can also find menswear, clothes for children, and lingerie. You will find designer pieces, but there are also more affordable clothes available.

Meublé

Meublé, the shop owned by Clàudia Font, is full of antique furniture and objects such as mirrors, coffee sets, telephones and chairs. According to the owner the pieces have seven lives, and a hidden history to be discovered by the buyer. Although many pieces are old they may well be destined for a new life in a modern apartment.

Retro City

At first, this store located at Tallers street can seem cluttered and a bit “overwhelming” for the amount of clothes hanging from the racks, but if you take a good look you’ll find the best vintage clothes at the best prices in this area of Barcelona.

- Flea market: this is a market of second hand clothing that is held monthly where things are sold or exchanged (clothing, accessories, CDs, books, household utensils, etc.) with very affordable prices.
